What do we do?
Dataspace Computing Pty provides a software platform with number plate recognition capability that enables SAPS, vehicle tracking companies, law enforcement agencies, neighbourhood watches and security companies to identify vehicle number plates associated with suspicious activity on video material captured by ANPR cameras.
How do we get the video material?
We enter into agreements with owners of camera networks and set up links to feed the material captured by their cameras into Dataspace system. Our camera network partners are local authorities, security estates, neighbourhood watches, vehicle tracking services and other organisations that put up ANPR cameras on their sites.
Ownership of cameras
Dataspace Computing Pty only owns cameras for testing. The ownership of rest of cameras remains with the organization that is responsible for it.
What information does Dataspace Computing Pty collect from the camera feeds?
- Image of the number plate and of the car
- Date
- Time
- Camera details.
We believe the number plate by itself does not constitute personal information. Dataspace cannot link any individual to an incident or to a number plate.
Information sharing
We share your information if required by law enforcement or SAPS, or an instruction from courts.
